Hope(less)

Mythology tells the story of Pandora’s box – which contained all the sorrows and troubles of the earthly world. The story goes on to say that “Hope” was the last remaining thing left in the box after all the evils had escaped. “Hope” was released from the box to make up for the mess. to ease the burden and help the mortal world along…

But to me…”Hope” was nothing more than another evil. cloaked by lies. Sinister and unassuming, yet unleashing little horrors on his unsuspecting believers!

Hope is what leads people to believe in miracles…miracles that never happen.

That you will be cured of cancer.

That you will walk again after the terrible accident.

That people change…for the better.

That love would prevail.

Hope is that lie.

  1. I’m with you on that one.. but sometimes hope has a way of uplifting one’s spirit…:) which is probably what some may need…

  2. Yet sometimes hope prevails… people sometimes *do* beat cancer, *do* walk after spinal injury, and strangely enough *do* change for the better. They may be few and far between… but it’s enough to keep me hoping…

    Have yourself a good weekend!

  3. NICE.
    Hope is insecurity.
Hope is thought – contaminated by conditioning.
Hope is from the outside in.
People don’t get cancer when they love.
People get cancer after an accumulation of unaware states.
People can fight cancer in the name of love with faith – not with love.
Faith is the knowledge that lies within you – inside.
